i hope the timberwolves start chiming in soon

It's starting to look like the Spurs unless another team steps up to the plate big time.

Of course, Durant could hinder a trade if he wanted, like he reportedly did with the Warriors, but there are only a few teams that are likely to extend him.

It's looking like Vassell and Sochan are the players the Suns would receive in a trade from the Spurs.

Maybe the 14th pick as well.

Maybe throw in a couple more future picks and that's not so bad, I guess.

YES, they choked also. Book gets $75M a year the NBA is gonna go broke. They are headed for WNBA type losses

Wouldn't we all like to get paid that type of money for choking.

The NBA is getting paid huge money in television revenue and will be expanding to Europe soon.

Yeah the NBA might have been in trouble had things continued as they were but bringing gambling into play is a game changer for them.

I think gambling income is presently small potatoes for the NBA, garnering only about $167 million in income.

Total league incomes surpasses $10 billion.

It is but it's almost all profit and it also raises the league's profile which also leads to more income.

That's true but it gets more eyes on games. I know my group of friends has watched more games this season outside of Suns games because of certain offers from sports books to bet on games. It makes the games more exciting when you have a stake in the outcome and you become more of a fan of the league as a whole vs a specific team the more you take in.

I wish professional sports would have stayed far away from the gambling business, but I guess it's almost anything for more money.

If there is a pie, they want a slice.

Personally, I think gambling detracts from fandom, but I can see it getting more casual fans involved.

I think it adds to fandom. It gives us average Joe's a chance to profit from a team's success without having billions to buy a team. It also sucks even more when they lose. I don't encourage gambling, it can get out of hand like anything but I find no harm personally in throwing a few bucks on a game to sort of drive my personal enjoyment. It would help if the Suns could win some games but it makes those games in December against bottom feeders like the Wizards more enjoyable, to me, knowing I could walk away with enough to get some new merch for free. That didn't work well this season so those games stung more but if it's not your cup of tea then I respect it.

I've always enjoyed betting on sports although I don't do it any more but even still, it would be hypocritcal of me to rail about sports betting. I sort of feel as you do but mostly because I worry about the integrity of the game and the fact that a certain number of new sports bettors can't really afford it. I'm not really concerned about it "detracting from fandom" as you say. AFAIC we crossed that bridge when fantasy leagues and such became popular.
