That didn’t answer my question. Why do you want to build around an old, somewhat injury prone PG who’s declining and a guy who can never stay healthy? Why do you think they would be good additions?

Since the Suns don't even own their own draft pick until 2032, I'm looking at ways to keep the Suns somewhat competitive until then. That seems to be Mat Ishbia's intent if he keeps Booker.

I'm not locked into any trade if a better one comes along.

At least the Holiday and Porzingis trade rumor gave the Suns two potential starters to add with Booker, maybe even some draft picks as well.

Indeed. And the Suns aren't necessarily doomed to being bad or worse next year even if they do elect to bring everyone back for another run. They could conceivably even be improved with some fixes around the edges and better coaching. Not contenders, but likely not any worse than mediocre either.

Yes, that is a terrible strategy for the future because it's only putting off the inevitable likely eventual disaster. Nevertheless, the problem isn't really next season itself, but the ones beyond that.

Kinda feels like the disaster already happened and I agree the next several seasons could be really rough.

One major concern with running it back has to be health. You know Beal is out 30 games minimum and seems like Booker and KD were unusually healthy.

Is there anything positive happening with this team, anything to look forward to?

NEGATIVE:
floundering owner
GM w/0 experience
no quality draft pics
no up and coming stars
no playoffs
three of the 10 highest paid players
players that don't fit
no coach
second apron

POSITIVE:
?
Dunn? I like Dunn a lot!

If the draft order was based on playoff results and not regular season standings we’d have the 25th pick instead of the 29th pick. I’m sure the steal of the draft will get picked in that range.

Phoenix Suns - come for the basketball, leave with a stabbing or gunshot??

This actually shocks me. Every game I have been to they wand the crap out of people no matter what entrance I have used. I guess mistakes can be made. I mean it happens at the TSA as well. If they have some gaps they need to be fixed for sure but my wife has even had her clear bag purse searched.

I'm all in on Dudley. If you haven't, read his ebook about the bubble where he was part of the Lakers team that won the championship there. Here's a link to the thread where I shared info on how to obtain it. I'm fairly certain it's still free. The book is only 70 or so pages, IIRC. So a quick read or available in audiobook format.

Bummed that Royal Ivey and Chris Quinn didn’t make the cut.

Jordan Ott and Steve Hetzel have ties to Michigan State.

I am unimpressed by that list but since I was impressed by our previous 3 Head Coach hirings, maybe that's a good thing.

Jake Fischer and Marc Stein are reporting that Chris Quinn also made the next round of interviews.

I didn't ask for Steve Nash, but I'm disappointed at the finalists not including any former Suns. Not since Jerry Colangelo's ownership has the franchise liked to hire coaches from within.

The fact that Dan Majerle isn't in consideration and that he has kept a low profile since getting fired from GCU, makes me think that he's on sabbatical from the basketball world and doesn't want to try coaching again anyway at this time. (Especially since, as I only just found out, he re-married a few years ago.) I also suspect that after his last firing, Jeff Hornacek got fed up and isn't interested in being a head coach again.

I heard an interview with Majerle about a month ago. He plays golf 7 days a week and has no desire to do anything else.
