When the Suns let Crowder sit at home rather than trade him, I always felt James Jones James was keeping him there for a reason, in case he needed added flexibility to complete the Durant trade.

Durant wasn’t even an option when the Crowder thing was going on

Didn’t McD draft Booker, Ayton and Bridges? Those were all under him right? Jones traded TJ Warren for Cash and drafted Cam Johnson but as far as drafts go that’s kinda it right. We haven’t really done anything on draft night since then I don’t think

I think the only move JJ did for that team was bringing in Paul and even that was Booker making it happen everything else has been a disaster for him.
I think he oversaw 6 drafts for us and we were one of the worst teams in the NBA during much of that time. Booker was an excellent pick, Bridges too but that probably wasn't his pick and although justifiable, it's not like he hit a home run with Ayton. Anyway, our tank years led to the high picks we wasted on Alex Len, Marquese Chriss, Dragan Bender and Josh Jackson - I don't know how any franchise could have made less out of those picks.

Bro KD and Devin Booker couldn’t get this team to even respectability Myles Turner ain’t turning us around lol. Stars make role players better not the other way around.

We have deep deep problems
Having a legit weapon at the 5 who can make 3's and guard the rim would have completely changed the paradigm. I think Turner would have been a huge upgrade over whatever crap we played at center the last couple of years.

Like I said.

Turner is a nice piece but he’s hardly a “weapon” he shoots 3s nice but who’s gonna rebound? He’s one of the worst in the league. People lost their mind with Ayton and he got you better numbers across the board.

Downgrade from Ayton upgrade from Nurk but anything is an upgrade from Nurk

The old crew with Myles Turner instead of the POS DA is the story. The Twins with Turner, Book and maybe CP is way better than the trash the Suns have been since the clown Grim Sleeper trade who is more worried about running his offense and stat padding than winning

One of the worst in the league? He's averaged 7 rebounds a game throughout his career. Ayton doesn't have better #'s across the board - Turner has averaged more points over the last 3 years, and has doubled Ayton's shot blocking #'s.

I can guarantee you most of the NBA would take Turner over Ayton.

Yes he was. The KD trade talk started that off-season but with the Sarver suspension drama lingering, no deal could be done. Durant said he wouldn't show up and demanded Nash be fired. Then Kyrie got dealt. That saga seemed to be over by the time Ishbia came in and reignited it.

Yeah my center getting 6.8 rebounds a game is awesome. He does block shots he’s a great weak side defender and average at best on man.

Like I said he’s a nice piece

What doesn't add up with this scenario is why we didn't swap KD for Butler? Maybe we wanted picks also and Miami didn't want to budge to get Jimmy gone but it would have worked. Now they stand to lose more for Durant? It doesn't make sense.

Getting Ware and Jovic in return would be big though. I'm not opposed but don't see the rationale.

I didn’t say he was an amazing GM, but he still is the man who put the pieces together

Was Crowder sitting out games in the off-season?

We knew he'd be sat. Trade rumors started at the draft but then issues between the Suns and Crowder became known before the season started as Crowder removed all references to the Suns from his social media and the Suns said they were looking to trade him as he wouldn't be attending training camp.

I'd like to see Dudley become a head coach but I feel he'd be in an impossible situation here.

So what do Minnesota and Miami have that we might want (and would be realistic)? I know Miami has been proposed before, but no one has posited Minny as a potential trade partner.
Minny prob throws us some drek-ish combo of Randle, the white Nova SG who’s name escapes me and future picks.

And Ish probably takes that thinking Booker/Randle/Nova guy is a kinda big 3 that may contend for the playoffs.

And then @Phrazbit suicide bombs Suns headquarters for bringing Randle in to destroy what’s left of Booker’s prime.
