whether kd might stay or not - ish needs to say kd might stay - he should've said that all along - you know - with him being smarter than nba gms and all - should've gotten kd to sign that 2 year with him being such a master negotiator

Windy saying Suns getting lowballed

And talk is starting that Durant might be back with the Suns
They're going to have to say that if they're getting lowball offers.

What prevents the Suns from doing what they did with the Charles Barkley trade? What I mean is, get a return for him, then turn around in a few months and make another big trade. It has been said for decades that Jerry Colangelo effectively traded Barkley for Jason Kidd.

If the Kevin Durant trade becomes just phase one of a larger shakeup, so be it.

There was a recent story about the suns gauging league value for one of the Houston guys.

i'd bring back Ayton if they took Beal back in return. Arguably Beal playing better than Ayton. They can throw in whoever they want to even out the salaries..

That would be the first of the new GM's faults, also under the advisement of IT and JJ.

That is a fact.

The Beal bashing is out of hand

17PPG .497% of FG, .386 from 3 last year

By comparison
Desmond Bane
19.2 PPG .484% of FG, .392 from 3

According to Suns fans and the NBA - Bane is worth 5 firsts, but Beal who has 90% the same stats deserves to be waived.

Well, if the best offer is Quickly, Poetl and the #9, call me crazy but I am not making that deal.

I would rather just get 55 million of cap space cleared than take on trash contracts and a prayer that the #9 pick makes it all worth it.

The Beal bashing has nothing to do with his stats when he plays. I think most fans here have said that. Also Beal is 31 years old. Bane is only 26. If you don't think that is a big difference I don't know what to tell you. Many think Bane has not reached his ceiling. Beal 100% has. He is not getting better. Just older.

Now I think 5 firsts for someone like Bane is an overpay for sure but is seems like there is always one team willing to do that each year. It's just a poor comparison IMO.

I never said there wasn't a difference Beal is clearly the inferior player especially when Defense is considered. As far as injuries go, yeah that is a knock on him also but Bane played 69 games last year and 42 and 58 the 2 years before to Beal's 53, 53, 50 so it's not as big as you may think it is.

When Beal has a bigger role like he did in Washington his output only gets better, because he is just a much better shot creator than Bane.

Also it's hard for me to believe Bane is going to get much better at this point, maybe ever so slightly, but usually 26/27 is about when a player is as good as they will ever be unless they have an obvious hole that can be fixed - which he does not.

My point is the the difference in perception between the two is laughable considering their actual impact on the floor.

I haven't checked, but assuming also that Bane's Minutes per game was higher than Beal's as well.

It’s his age, health and contract that kills him. He hasn’t played over 60 games in 6 years.

I think he would be an awesome 6th man just come in for 20-25 minutes and light it up with the second unit. He’s not a star anymore and he needs to come to terms with that.

Your first sentence tells a lot. Maybe a new coach makes a difference, but I'm not holding my breath.

I was not just about acquiring Bane, it was paying to get rid of guys and their contracts. But yes 4 picks and a swap is 2 picks too many.

KCP is on a declined, 3years 66M
Cole , 3 years 39M

Roughly trading 35M for Banes 41M.

What is funny is that all the red flags were there. Beal only averages 34 min per game for his career, 21pts, 4 assists, 4 rebounds, a huge salary, and a NTC. Was never a defensive stopper and never a winner. Nice guy though.

Talk of bringing KD already is beyond premature. The off-season hasn't even started, we haven't had the draft or crowned a champion. I can understand how fans are anxious but that is not a conversation the front office should be even considering at this time.

Yeah, but if the Suns are asking for pie in the sky, like Castle or the #2 pick from San Antonio, they need to get real.

Why wouldn’t SA give up the second pick. They already have a ton of young talent and this is really considered a one man draft. It’s like some years where you got like 4-5 can’t miss prospects.

I’m not budging if I’m the Suns. I’d rather just lose him in free agency and clear up the money than take back trash
