Ricky, the Suns have a starting point guard spot open if you ever decide to come back.

I hated Rubio prior to his last year in Utah. It was my fault, I admit as I thought he looked very punchable in a Grayson Allen way. Then a rumor dropped the Suns might acquire him and I had to reflect and realize how wrong I was. Dude is a class act and consummate professional. Loved seeing him here and wish we could have kept him because I am confident the bubble Suns would have been a playoff team the next season with some small tweaks but CP3 was too much of an upgrade to pass on.

Feel for Ricky when he retired but the story surrounding that made me appreciate what he brought more. Great guy.

Ayton...KD

All I know is the Aytons last three years with the suns have been better than KD's last three years with the suns, and thats with them sharing one year on the same team.
And that had nothing to do with Ayton. That was CP before he became washed, Mikal and Cam.

While I agree KD is a negative force - so is Ayton.

I hope that if the Suns are not getting a decent offer for KD they don't just give him away. Just waiting past the draft will probably bring better offers, these teams know we are rushing to get a deal done and are lowballing us.

That is wild. Is it not clear to you he is only playing ball for the check?

His attitude is just poison for a team that wants to be a winner, because he could care less.

Well even if you have forgotten, I am sure Book and Ishbia have not. There is zero chance he is coming back.

Cause Devin Booker looks like he’s really putting in the work huh. Man his game is just so much more well rounded these days lol.

It’s pretty clear who the cancers on that team were.

Wrong. Ayton had been a problem since AT LEAST his stupid suspension, well before KD was here.

I swear the short memories of this board are frustrating as hell.

His numbers suggest different but sure thing bud. 17/10 on 63% from the field.

His playoffs game logs from the season before KD

21/9
10/9
28/17
23/8
19/9
22/7

25/8
9/3
16/11
14/11
20/9
21/5
5/4

Lmao omg who wants that kinda production from a 7 footer all while being statistically our best permitter defender that’s wild.

I got called all kinds of names but it’s been shown it’s gonna be a long time before you get a center like that here again

Do you still watch Ayton? Career lows across the board and Portland has already planned for post Ayton times by drafting Clingan. in PPG, RPG, and % of games played. He is averaging almost a 3pt shot a game though and he finally found a mattress so any day now he'll put it together.

Well, yes when he was no longer the focus with Book it did take some wind out of his sails, but that isn't coming back. He has accepted he is not going to be a star and he is fine with it.
Man, the selective amnesia is really strong today.

The dude QUIT on the team in Game 7 of the 2022 Semis… BEFORE KD came. And that’s why he got benched by Monti.

We're at the point of the offseason where people start talking about bringing back former players. We don't need stupider basketball minds, we need smarter ones.

It reeks of desperation and nostalgia. I can't think of one scenario where that combo has ever worked. Not that's not to say I would never want a player we shipped out to comeback. I would take Bridges back in a heartbeat but I would also temper my expectations on what that would do for the team. Selfishly, from a fan perspective, I would love if that happened.

I'm willing to explore a range of centers. Sometimes people do get humbled and change.

This is just one more option to think about. The Suns had to give up a first round pick to trade Nurkic. The grass isn't always greener.
The problem is he isn’t a max player.

it worked with Nash.
No even comparable. Nash was respected and performed everywhere he went. He wasn't a cancer in the locker room and didn't have a reputation for being a headcase or giving up on his team. Fan nostalgia should never be a factor.

Again one of the single most embarrassing game 7s in memory down almost 50 at one point. Clearly Ayton quit HOWEVER so did the entire team. It’s not up for debate there were clearly issues and till this day we’ve never found out what happened in that series

Show me the Suns player in that starting 5 that showed any kind of heart that night. Cause it wasn’t Chris Paul, Damn sure wasn’t Booker or Bridges

Yet here we are laughing stock of the league and Devin Bookers game has fallen off a Cliff and is somehow more valuable to the Suns fans then ever. Go figure

What cliff has it fallen off? Genuinely asking because I don't see that from any measure. His statistical output is not much different from that season and he played 2nd fiddle most of the year.

Point to a more valuable asset in the Suns arsenal also. There isn't one I can see.

Look up his clutch stats and his defensive ranking.

Empty calories but you think he’s a stud and you can’t build around him ok

His clutch stats took a massive hit this year. I'm not denying that. Was he the first or second option in clutch situations? His clutch opportunities were down because he was a second option and that sort of context is important to note.

Where did I say he's a stud? You're now putting words in my words in my mouth. We're screwed for years. We can build an entertaining squad around him that is more competitive than the mess we saw this past season. If you disagree with that then you disagree but the evidence of him is when he wss the primary scorer here the team was much better than last year also.

Again, put words in my mouth. How about Booker as a second option isn't good. He's a bad second option. Is that fair?
