I wondered the same. Rankin clarified some. Apparently Coach Ott has a plan to focus on strength and conditioning now so he's more prepared for the long haul and able to play when it matters vs scrimmages. He's healthy but the Suns are taking a cautious approach.

No need to go off the deep end here. This to me seems like due diligence to me. He's a decent player that is absolutely plagued by injury. He's 23 and they probably looked at what his regimen was while at Charlotte and are trying to figure out what has led to all his injury problems. They are trying to get him to a point where the risk of injury is reduced. Don't know if it will work, but it is 100% the right way to look at it. He's healthy now, what does he need to do/change in order to stay that way?

The Suns are doing a fantastic job with the marketing of this new team. I know for me personally, the buzz around the team right now is unexpected. Sure, we might not do much this year, but man, at least it won't be like Book's few years, where there wasn't much hope of anything beyond him developing.

I'm actually looking forward to see this new-look team all season. We're going to see a lot of lows, but the highs should be pretty fun.
