Prior to Chris Paul, who was the most recent former Rookie of the Year to play for the Suns late in his career? (Don't count Stoudemire.)

Please don't post the answer; it's in the spoiler. But I'd be interested to see how many get it. After the question occurred to me, I came up with my own guess, which was wrong.

Grant Hill. My incorrect guess was Shaquille O'Neal, which means I also skipped Vince Carter, who came to the Suns later than Hill did, but Hill outlasted him.

My guess was your “skip”. Really thought I had it when I thought of him.

Yeah, I had to word the question carefully to dodge any ambiguity.

Good job on that. I was going to say Emeka Okafor since he was a Sun for a season despite never suiting up. I remember talk of him possibly making a comeback for that run in Hornacek's first year when it looked like we could be a playoff team but nothing materialized.

A quick scan through the list of ROY winners reveals the answer pretty quickly... although I admit I wouldn't have thought of it off the top of my head.

Okafor would have been the correct answer if he had ever actually played here.
