Yeah, Bud has done a great job with the Suns. Maybe the Suns can get worse than 5 games under .500.

If the Suns wanted to make the play-in, they would have made an assistant the interim head coach.

It may not have been a long term answer, but it would have got the team's attention and a few more wins.

I know Monty was flying high at the time, but I really wanted Willie Green. I had forgotten about this, but Brendon Kleen commented how Booker and KD wanted Kevin Young as the head coach. Now people have been talking the only coach's that the team may respect are former players like Chauncey Billips. It seems JJ has gone out of his way to pick different guys. Of course they interviewed Young, but I wonder how much they really considered him. I was against it because our offense was just like it is now. However, maybe a coach the players want would be better able to reach the team? I am leaning more on the players need to be traded to change the results. We obviously can't match up physically with other teams, let alone following a coach's system.

Young was in charge of the offense last year. The players didn't want to listen to him. I believe they wanted him solely as a scapegoat. He was a first time head coach that would be viewed as in over his head instead of Vogel, who was viewed the same for the most part but there was no power play or struggle.

The Pistons totally flipping the switch once he left is a poor reflection on him as well. IMO, was totally burnt out after the 23 season and only went to Detroit because they offered him a ridiculous contract.

I think many Suns fans liked Willie Green because he was a good defensive coach. It's too bad the timing didn't work out.

In retrospect, the Suns fired Frank Vogel too quickly.

Overrated or not, Frank Vogel had the Suns playing much better and finished 6th in the West. The Suns actually played winning basketball. Losing to the Timberwolves in four was tough, but nothing like we are experiencing now.

Better doesn't mean good. That team still underachieved and Vogel reminded me of Pringles and his completely inability to make in game adjustments.

Vogel would stiil be a vast improvement over Budenholzer. At least the Suns could play some defense with him as head coach.

And the Suns should have been better this season and he was able to coach Nurkic.

Bud seems like a guy who needs his type of players to be successful with his schemes. This collection of players feels like a bad fit.

Nurks problem wasn't coaching. Nurk sucked at the end of last season and it continued into this season. He fell off a cliff. It's not like he is lighting it up since the trade either.

At least Vogel won 49 games playing checkers and he did it with Nurkic as well.

Also, three centers are better than two especially with the Suns interior defense looking like a freeway with rush hour traffic driving through it.
