The Golden State Warriors defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 1 of their Western Conference Semifinals, but the victory came at a significant cost.

Superstar guard Stephen Curry left the game and was later diagnosed with a Grade 1 hamstring strain.

Curry had gotten off to a hot start, too, as he scored 13 points in 12:54 of playing time.

He's projected to miss at least a week, but no official timetable has been set.

Steve Kerr responds to Chris Finch's complaints

Following the Warriors' 99-88 win, Timberwolves head coach didn't hesitate to call out the officiating, as he believes Rudy Gobert got the brunt of things.

"They look like pulling linemen with the shots they're taking on [Gobert]," Finch said.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr heard of Finch's comments and believes his side wasn't getting many foul calls in their favor either.

"I was upset the first 10 minutes of the game," Kerr said. "It was like the Houston all over again, they're hugging Steph. They could've called six fouls but the league has established the physicality in the playoffs.

"I've got my complaints, too. We all do. This is how it works in the playoffs. We watch the tape; we see all of the fouls on them that aren't called. They watch the tape they see all the ones on us that aren't called. It's a physical game."

While Kerr and Finch have had issues with the officiating, Kerr believes it's at least been consistent.

"It has been consistent," Kerr said. "They're consistently allowing teams to foul. As I said, it's a really hard thing to control because everyone is playing so hard...This is playoff basketball."

Grabbing the 1-0 lead out of the gate and on the road is largely significant for a team that will be without its superstar for at least the next game or two.

Suppose the Warriors are able to get Curry back ahead of schedule. In that case, it remains to be seen precisely what percentage he could play at comfortably and without risking further injury.

The Warriors and Timberwolves play Game 2 on Thursday night.
