With the start of OTAs upon us, we decided now was the time to update our five-round mock draft for the Pittsburgh Steelers. We might not have a full understanding of how the top 2026 NFL draft prospects will sort themselves out but we do have a good feel for what the Steelers top roster needs are.
We can't wait to see Sellers take that next step as a quarterback in 2025. Last season, Sellers had a breakout season with 2,534 passing yards in 12 games, along with 674 rushing yards. Sellers accounted for 25 total touchdowns. His mobility and athleticism makes him a first-round prospect now and if he can clean up his passing game he could end up in the top half of the round.
Lane was the touchdown maker for USC last season. Lane hauled in 12 touchdowns on only 45 receptions. We expect Lane to have a more expanded role next season and if he can fill out his 6-foot-4 frame, he will open up his options for the Trojans.
Pittsburgh is going to be looking for a starting boundary cornerback the next offseason and if they don't go big in free agency, landing Stamps here makes a lot of sense. He lasted this long in this simulation but if he can start turning those passes defended into interceptions.
Bowry is an experienced starter who plays with tremendous power. He's a bit of a tweener in terms of size and could project as a tackle or guard at the next level.
If Febechi Nwaiwu can build on what was a great 2024 season where he played every snap and was the best lineman on the Sooners, he will never last until the fourth round, but for now we will take him as an immediate replacement for Isaac Seumalo.
Barnes is an exceptional all-around safety who is as comfortable stepping up and defending the run as he is falling back into coverage. Barnes has seven interceptions over the past two seasons

First round - QB LaNorris Sellers - South Carolina

Third round - CB Ashton Stamps - LSU
