SpaceX has begun construction on the first of two planned offshore platforms to launch and land its Starship rocket. CEO Elon Musk over the weekend confirmed that the private spaceflight company has broken ground (er, water) on the ocean-based port, expected to be ready in 2022.

Named after Martian moons Phobos ("fear") and Deimos ("panic"), the twin spaceports are being built on $7 million worth of oil rig apparati, purchased last year from Valaris, according to Digital Trends. There's no word on when the Phobos platform will be ready for use.
