Who: Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp vs. Nashville Sounds.
When: Tuesday, June 24, through Sunday, June 29.
Yum! Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp baseball menu includes new flavors for 2025
Where: VyStar Ballpark.
Series recap: The Jumbo Shrimp completed their first-half surge to the top of the standings, taking four of six on the road against the Syracuse Mets. That performance, coupled with a catastrophic final-week collapse by the Lehigh Valley IronPigs against the last-place Rochester Red Wings, overcame a three-game deficit for the first-half title.
Highlight: It's hard to top the RBI that gave Jacksonville its first postseason berth since 2017, and its first in Triple-A since 1968. The Jumbo Shrimp were tied 2-2 in the seventh inning against Syracuse when Maximo Acosta singled, advanced to second on an errant pickoff, took third on a groundout and scored the go-ahead run on Troy Johnston's single to left.
Crustacean sensation: Reliable veteran Johnston came up big down the stretch, leading the Jumbo Shrimp to 10 wins in their last 12 games. During the Syracuse series, he batted .350 with three home runs, seven RBI and three stolen bases.
On deck: While Jacksonville finished the first half as leader of the pack in the International League East, Nashville was best in the West, ahead of Indianapolis and Memphis. The Triple-A affiliates of the Milwaukee Brewers, Nashville includes the Brewers' second-ranked prospect in catcher Jeferson Quero, a 22-year-old who has been dynamite at the plate in 2025. In 23 games, he's batting .342 with five home runs, 21 RBI and a 1.053 OPS.
Ballpark fun: Prepare to get drenched on the Jumbo Shrimp's annual Splash Day and Camp Day on June 25, a noon start with water features set up and regular blasts of water to cool fans in many sections of ballpark seating. Also on the schedule are a quieter-than-usual sensory-friendly night on June 24, a celebration of Canadian culture for Almost Canada Day on June 27, a Wizards and Wands picnic night on June 28 and Bluey at the Ballpark Day on June 29.
Probable pitchers Tuesday: To be announced.
