The league-leading Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp begin a road trip to the Durham Bulls for a six-game series. Here's what you need to know about the next Triple-A baseball series.
Who: Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp at Durham Bulls.
When: Tuesday, April 29, through Sunday, May 4.
Where: Durham Bulls Athletic Park, Durham, N.C.
Series recap: It's seven consecutive wins now for the Jumbo Shrimp, with the best record in the minors at 21-6. They took six of six at home from the Gwinnett Stripers, winning three of those ballgames by a single run and allowing only 10 runs for the whole series.
Highlight: Walk-off drama: Deyvison De Los Santos belted his second home run of the season in thebottom of the ninth inning on Sunday, securing a 3-2 victory and clinching the series sweep. Jacksonville has now won 14 consecutive home games, with a 2.61 team ERA and 69 stolen bases in 80 attempts.
Crustacean sensation: Jack Winkler is making plays with both his glove — his acrobatic catch on April 26 quickly circulated around baseball's social media scene — and his bat. The 26-year-old infielder is batting .333 with two homers and an .880 OPS.
On deck: At 16-11, Durham stands third in the International League East, five games behind the Jumbo Shrimp. The Triple-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays, Durham includes a 2020 Silver Slugger Award winner in Eloy Jimenez as well as the Rays' No. 1 overall prospect in shortstop Carson Williams.
Probable pitchers Tuesday: Jacksonville's Valente Bellozo (1-0, 1.59) vs. Durham's Ian Seymour (2-1, 2.49).
