Torrey Craig joined the Boston Celtics midway through the 2024-25 season. Brad Stevens picked him up off the buyout market after the Chicago Bulls waived him. Craig added size and athleticism to the Celtics' forward rotation, along with another presence on the defensive end.
Craig played in 17 regular-season games after teaming up with the Celtics. He averaged 2.7 points and 2.8 rebounds along with 11.8 minutes of playing time. Nevertheless, Craig's contract with Boston has run its course. As such, he will hit unrestricted free agency during the offseason.
During a recent conversation with Brian Robb of Masslive.com, Craig admitted that he would be open to staying with the Celtics for another year.
Brad Stevens is expected to make significant changes to Boston's roster in the coming months. As such, there could be a lesser focus on adding veteran talent to the rotation.
As such, Craig would be wise to continue testing his free agency market before making a final decision on his next stop.
Still, if the Celtics are looking for a low-usage forward who can provide perimeter defense and a hint of athleticism in spot minutes, then they could do far worse than bringing the 8-year veteran back on another minimum deal.

“I guess we’ll cross that path when we get there,“ Craig said. ”I have to sit down with my representatives, my agents and talk things through and see the options. But I wouldn’t mind re-signing here.”
