The New York Giants have beefed up their secondary this offseason with the additions of free agents Jevon Holland and Paulson Adebo but may not be done if the right player comes along.

That prompts the question of whether they'll have any interest in Jaire Alexander, the two-time Pro Bowl cornerback who was released by the Green Bay Packers on Monday.

Several outlets have compiled lists of where Alexander could end up this season. The Giants are not considered a top suitor for his services.

The Giants only have an estimated $4.4 million in available cap space and have yet to sign this year's fourth-round pick, running back Cam Skattebo. That won't preclude them from checking in on Alexander, but many feel they will pass due to several factors.

Alexander will likely cost more than the Giants are willing to pay, plus the fact they've already invested their lot this offseason in Adebo.

With Tae Banks and Cor'Dale Flott -- two draft picks the Giants are expecting to take big leaps this season -- still in the fold, general manager Joe Schoen might be wise to spend what little money he has left on a more pressing need.
