One of the reasons a site like this is so important is that, without it, fans have only (a) the spin the team wants to get out to the fans, (b) the (often wrong or biased) take on the team provided by the local media and (c) snippets of faulty info provided from a distance by the national media.
Much of the fun you get following your favorite team takes place when you hobnob with your fellow fans at the local sweet shop where you get your coffee in the morning, around the watercooler at work, after-hours over a cold one, tailgating before the game or sitting in the stands with your fellow Cardinal rooters (along with a few representatives of "the enemy").
Those are the only places where you get a real sense of the agony and frustration when we lose and the exhileration of when we win.
Until this and (ahem!) similar such fans sites came into being, this sense of seeing things from a Cardinal fans' eye-view was missing from both the local scene and, of course, Cardinal fans dispersed throughout the diaspora.
You can see the difference between the intensity and football knowledge of Cardinal rooters today and those wonderful early years when a typical question on one of Buddy's call in shows might be: "So how do you think we're gonna do this year, Coach?"
Never forget when DBaker successfully organized - via the Internet - a movement to fill SDS with Cardinal Red instead of Felon Blue at the game where we upset those turkeys (with Butthead hitting the game-winning bank-shot off the goal post).
Fans help create winners (& that's the name of THAT tune)!
