I know… Thomas drives me nuts. He’s so likable and I want him to play well. I swear he’s got to lead the league in hitting ground ball outs to the right side of the field.

Splitting four games with the Giants is not the worst thing that could happen. 2-2 matches up pretty well with the overall state of the DBacks franchise - an "around .500" club going nowhere this year due to a number of factors (poor managing, tons of injuries, and an underperforming roster (which someone told us was the 4th best in MLB)). DBacks are a home dog tonight against the Giants' best pitcher - whereas the DBacks have Pffffttttt on the mound.

You mean there's a chance? Has to avoid a pfifth inning meltdown too...you know Lovullo will leave him in for at least 5 with the state of the single-A bullpen (especially after an extra inning loss last night).

I can see it now. AZ up by a run at the end of Pfifth. Pfaadt has 95 pitches and Torey sends him out for the 6th...and he promptly loads the bases with no outs, before Torey even gets somebody up in the bullpen.

Yeah...that guy should be fired. The latest MLB Power Rankings are out today and they are being very, very generous with the DBacks at #16 of 30. The team simply hasn't performed up to potential. Yes, there have been a lot of injuries (likely due to the new inept pitching coach) but every team has injuries during the long season. DBacks should probably be at #20 or #21 at this point in the season.

It appears that the forum has thinned out a bit since the DBacks are "out of it" for all intents and purposes. There's always next year - and the hope that Lovullo is gone soon.
