The Tennessee Titans offense scored a touchdown in a most improbable way in the fourth quarter against the Arizona Cardinals on Oct. 5.

Let's go step-by-step, by bullet points:

  • Inside the Arizona 30-yard line, Cam Ward rolls to the left, and makes a very poor decision to throw a wobbly interception right to Cardinals DB Dadrion Taylor-Demerson.
  • Taylor-Demerson clearly possesses the ball and takes a few steps, then stumbles to the ground.
  • The ball pops out, and rolls free from the Cardinals defender into the end zone.
  • Titans wide receiver Tyler Lockett recovers the ball into the end zone for a touchdown.
  • PAT good, and the Titans cut the Cardinals' lead to 21-19 with 4:39 left.

It was a stunning step toward a stunning Titans comeback in a wacky second half that has included a touchdown reversed upon review to a touchback following a drop at the goal line by Cardinals running back Emari Demercado, a snap to the helmet of Cardinals QB Kyler Murray resulting in an Arizona turnover and a missed PAT by Joey Slye turning an 8-point deficit into a 9-point one.
