Not literally, figuratively.

He doesn't want to play here.

Why do we want more malcontents on this team?
We're just about rid of the one's we already have.

Guys, you're making a mountain out of a molehill. Holliday is looking out for his best interests. If he can get a similar deal somewhere else, why wouldn't he "not want to be here?"

If he signs--great, we have a starting DE that puts all of our others to shame. We need him.

If he doesn't--so what? You guys can run through your lists of excuses why you didn't want him: "He didn't want to be here," "he's a malcontent," "he's injury prone," the dude like to party," etc...

The fact is he would make the cardinals a better football team...even if he would rather play somewhere else but didn't get any offers.

We are his last choice. We have made him the best offer financially (according to his agent) and he's just looking to use that as leverage for more cash elsewhere.

Screw him.

Sounds like smart business to me. If he doesn't get the offer he's looking for from the team he's looking for, I, for one, will welcome him.

The Cardinals can't afford to take an offer of the table out of pride with the DE position.

You know what then screw every draft pick because he actually wants to go to a winning team. Screw Bryant because he held out for so long, screw Colvin because he came here said no thanks and went to a SB contender. The list goes on and on it is all just a bunch of crap to make excuses. Here is a legit reason why people dont choose Arizona, because this team does not know how to win and the management has a record for mistreating players. It is simple, people like to win and they can not get that here in Arizona. The only way people will come here is if this team wins some game and makes the playoffs once in a while. That would make the decision much easier for free agents.

I agree, screw all those guys too.

I can't stand the notion that winning "can't" happen here... that we'll "never" win.
It's total ********.

It isn't BS if the organization is a prideful as you guys would like it to be. We need a guy like Holliday. If we yank the offers off the table everytime our feelings get hurt we'll never be a winning organization.

I agree but that is what everyone thinks. The only reason i am still a fan is for that day when the cards win so i can stick it in everyones face. This team will win eventually but i dont think it will happen soon. My point was that the only way for us to get the big names is to start winning. That is how we signed starks and jones. The team went 7-9 and were looking very good but then we go 5-11 and we cant get high ticket free agents to sign. It is not coincidence it is just fact.

I have no respect, or trust in any player that decides not to play here because they can't win here. This line of thinking is a total and complete cop out. These type players all want to jump on the coat tails of REAL players on a percieved "good" team, because they have no real confidence in their own ability, and think the only way they can be seen as a winner, is to join winners.

I want players here, that want to be winners in their own right, that want to be part of the solution, and CONTRIBUTE to the effort, not just earn a paycheck playing on a team that's "no good."

It continues to amaze me, how players that leave here, bad mouth us after they leave about how we'll never win here because the ownership never brings in any good players...They're bad mouthing themselves.

No, but we can't be dangled on the fence either. Give him the offer and make a deadline. If he's here, great, that's one last position we need to fill. If he's not coming, we need to account for that too. But one way or another we need to KNOW so we can plan accordingly.

It's all going to come to a head here soon with this guy. Some of you would not be good negotiators at all. But, maybe I'm off base since I can lay no claim to reading his mind like some of you seem to be able to do. The draft is four weeks from tomorrow. We're hardly twisting in the breeze. Chill. Just friendly advice!
