That was one fine write-up. It is so nice when the writer knows a bit about what they are talking about.

It's a bunch of BS. If that article had any truth to it, it would imply that our GM and Scouting Department would know what they are doing at the draft. We all know that can't be possible.

Oh yeah...:sarcasm:

He gets point using "Edge has a lot of miles on his tires" correctly

I have read fairly regularly the following in regards to players (especially running backs) that are getting older "he has a lot of tread on his tires" -- which of course, means exactly the opposite of what they are trying to say

He (Wright, the author) wasn't enamored with the selection of Hightower.
You can't argue with the position because the Cardinals were definitely looking for a running back but Hightower may have been a bit of a reach and he really doesn't possess any special qualities, especially in the size and speed departments.

Nice article, good knowledge of the Cardinals; hopefully he is not right on everything.

the truth is this:

once you get past the first two rounds, everybody is perceived to have warts. The deeper into the draft, the more warts. He could have written the above about every pick in the fifth round.

The truth is that some percentage of those players either didnt have warts at all, or had some qualities that overcame any shortcomings.
