"If Overbay flops, the Royals' Mike Sweeney eventually could surface as an option for the Diamondbacks, who badly need righthanded power. The Royals almost certainly will consider trading Sweeney before the July 31 non-waiver deadline. Sweeney can become a free agent if the Royals fail to finish .500 in both 2003 and '04."

Sure would love to see Sweeney in the middle of this lineup. The guy can flat out rake.

Sweeney is one of my personal favorite and I would ove to see him in a DBacks uni.


But he's currently making $10M and if he gets traded gets an automatic $1M raise. I just don't see us justifying paying our 1B $11M a year even though he can "flat out rake" (which he certainly can )
