I was just thinking the other day that someone like Cliff would have been perfect in today's NBA especially playing next to DA. RIP Cliff. It's been a tough decade for former Portland players, that's 3 or 4 now that have recently died far too young.

Rest in Peace Cliff Robinson.

By Jack Maloney of CBS Sports:

In 1993 he was named Sixth Man of the Year, and in 1994 he made his first and only All-Star Game, but his most lasting memories in Portland may be for his signature headbands and celebratory dance called the "Uncle Cliffy," which later became his nickname.

Following his time in Portland, he played for the Phoenix Suns, where he put together a 50-point game and made an All-Defensive Second Team in 2000, the Detroit Pistons, where he made another All-Defensive Second Team in 2002, the Golden State Warriors and the New Jersey Nets before retiring in 2007.

My wife and I were at the game in which he scored 50 and basically carried the team to victory.

2020 sucks...

And thus continues the Suns "curse" of power forwards who played here passing away relatively young - Maurice Lucas, Wayman Tisdale, Armon Gilliam, Jackson Vroman, Alton Ford, and now Cliff.

Fun player to watch, played about 20 years before his time. He would have been a near max contract guy in today's NBA.

I remember the radio program of the Suns was starting to try a segment where they would duck into the locker room, and get after game reaction. It only lasted one or two games, because the segment I heard, they went into the locker room, and a "very happy" Cliff Robinson was signing as loud as possible in the background. Sounded like he was in an latered state already!! LOL! It was funny as hell. After that, I noticed the radio program did not go into the lokker room anymore. LMAO! I will remember Cliff wailing away in the locker room. Really a great memory!
