Grammy-winning songwriter Jerry Ragovoy has passed away at the age of 80.
Ragovoy composed a number of hit songs including Janis Joplin's "Piece of My Heart" and "Time Is On My Side," made famous by The Rolling Stones. He also penned tunes later recorded by Elvis Presley, Aretha Franklin, Barry White, B.B. King, Bette Midler and Faith Hill.
