RIP. He was always excellent and memorable in so many roles. And he had such a distinctive voice... I could always recognize him whenever he narrated something or did voice-over work.

my first ever memory of Donald Sutherland and after decades of great work still my favorite.

Me too! Rarely does a remake be as good as the original. This was one of them!

RIP Donald. I have no idea what his best role was but if I get my way we'll watch one of his lesser viewed movies tonight. I suspect my wife will probably vote to watch Space Cowboys, Outbreak or Eye of the Needle but I'm going to hold out for The Puppet Masters or Hollow Point.

I know it isn't hugely popular, but I always liked The Great Train Robbery he did with Connery. It's very possible Lesley-Anne Down has a lot to do with my enjoyment, but I'm also a sucker for the heist genre.
