RIP Daryl Dragon aka "The Captain"

NEW YORK (AP) — Daryl Dragon, the “Captain” of “The Captain and Tennille,” has died.

Dragon died early Wednesday at a hospice in Prescott, Arizona. Spokesman Harlan Boll said he was 76 and died of renal failure. His former wife and musical partner, Toni Tennille, was by his side.

I vaguely remember a TV show with them as a kid. The tunes were very popular and they seemed to make all the rounds on the variety shows. I never realized until reading the obit that the trademark sunglasses were to help a medical condition that gave him huge eyeballs.

Oddly enough I was just listening to Capt & Tennille yesterday & today without knowing that Daryl Dragon had died. Sad.
Toni has that sexy voice in the song "Do that to me one more time." RIP Captain.
