Report: Michael Edwards AGREES deal to leave Liverpool

New reports suggest Michael Edwards has agreed a deal to leave his job with FSG and depart Liverpool once again.

Saudi Arabian outlet Arriyadiyah claims Michael Edwards has agreed to join Al-Hilal. The Saudi Pro League side were reported to have made him an offer last month.

The claim here is that Edwards has verbally accepted the offer and will now sign the documents to become the next sporting director at Al-Hilal. Whether that happens before or after the FIFA Club World Cup is unclear.

Al-Hilal are arguably the biggest of the Saudi clubs and are eager to increase their standing on the global stage. Edwards would help them do just that as one of the most respected sporting directors in world football.

In fact, Edwards helped drive forward the club-record pursuit of Florian Wirtz. That deal should finalise next week.
