I got a DVD compilation last week with two Dimmur Borgir songs on it. Those guys rock. My girlfriend is into Manson and I'm more of a straight-ahead rock guy, and they are a band both of us can appreciate.

Children of the Bodom sounds like a lot of the other nordic bands, i.e. pretty great IMO, but I just can't get into their singer. He ruins their music for me. Shadows Fall is tremendous and their guitar playing, especially the rhythm, is some of the best metal guitar in years.

Did you get Damage Plan yet? It sounds like Pantera trying to knock-off Disturbed. I kinda like it but then again I miss Pantera.

If you like bands like Children of the Bodom, you might like Symphony X. They're a little more in the Dream Theater / Yngwie realm, but their music is heavier than most Pantera songs. In Flames, Soilwork, and Iced Earth also come to mind.

Good to see you here Trent, hope all is well!
