That's my biggest concern this offseason. If Niners end up signing him we're pretty much gonna remain the doormats in this division for many more years.
I hate to say it, but the Niners will win the division with or without Watson.

Maybe instead of finding a new team, you should buy the team. The problem is ownership & that won’t change any time soon.

What is wrong with you? Should people just stop saying anything about any one on the team because we have no effect on it? Take your “go find a new team” garbage and shove it back where that crap came from.

Great trade for the Lions, who usually don't make great moves. Goff isn't a world beater by any means, but he's not that far behind Stafford, who is probably not even a top 10 guy.

Add that to a haul of draft picks, and Lions come out well ahead on this one.

We have to stop worrying about what other teams in our division do. We have NO control over that. We have a great young QB. Build around him & we can compete in any division.
Yes, you do worry. It means that you should be more motivated and diligent in drafting and signing better players, along with having the right coaches and FO executives making those decisions. Do you honestly think this team has better talent, coaches and decision makers than any of the other teams in the NFC West?

Right now, Arizona is unequivocally the worst team in the division. We only got third last season because everyone of consequence was injured on the 49ers. The hope is that Kliff and Keim figure it out this offseason, and that Michael keeps tha leash incredibly short around their necks.

It is what it is. Is Stafford better than Goff? Absolutely. But, as someone said earlier, Goff always played great against us. Can Stafford play that much better against us than Goff did? Marginally at best. It’s the Ram’s D that eats our lunch. Having a week interior OL is kryptonite against the Rams. We have to strengthen our OL & fix our WR group in order to beat the Rams. I was 1000% sure that Goff wasn’t coming back, so this trade doesn’t surprise me one bit.

Stafford and the Lions loved playing us in 2020.

Got them in the W column for a change.

IF Stafford can stay healthy, the Rams will be better imo. McVay makes Stafford better, which makes the team better!

They both needed a change of venue - was stale on each team

cant wait for you to say the same with the next move the Seahawks make.

And then we’ll watch both of them continue to get to the playoffs while we sit on the sidelines watching for the sixth straight year.

What the hell Seahawks have to do, Go cry over Stafford. Losing Goff 2 1sts rds and 2 1st rds for Ramsey. Rams got Fleeced.

Anyway, Rams are crippled for years to come. They can only hope that they are legit contenders. Stafford is often injured even though he is a tough guy, his level drops when he is hindered.

When they fall, they will fall deep and hard. When they fail, they will fail big. Almost Texan-like.

People said the Rams got fleeced when they gave up 2 firsts for Ramsey. How's that looking these days? Maybe the Rams are just smart and don't overvalue draft picks that are likely late in round 1. Plus, Stafford is only 31 or 32. When did that become old for a QB?

Lot of people can try to spin things a lot of different ways to try to maintain relationships and shield the truth but the absolute reality is that Goff is in this trade as a straight-up salary dump. Wolford beat him out. Lions will draft his replacement soon enough

Twenty-two quarterbacks were drafted in the first round between 2009 and 2016. One remains with the team that drafted him: Carson Wentz. (Only four first-round QBs from '16 or before remain with the teams that picked them: Wentz, Aaron Rodgers, Matt Ryan and Ben Roethlisberger.)

Yes, the #Rams getting out of Jared Goff’s contract was one of the goals of this trade, but: - Stafford is an upgrade for LAR - The #Lions can’t just “cut” Jared Goff ala Brock Osweiler as there’s a $43.325M dead cap hit to do so in 2021. He’ll be on Detroit’s 2021 roster.

Keim better be like a buzzard around the rams when they start cutting players to get under the cap.
