- Rams general manager Les Snead said the team was put up in a hotel with a furry convention, twice
- Snead said this occurred during the "Pete Carroll era" of the Seahawks, and joked that it seemed like "something Pete might do"
- Snead praised the furry community for their passion and "well thought-out" costumes
The Seattle Seahawks may have a creative method for getting in their opponents' heads.
Los Angeles Rams general manager Les Snead joined Rich Eisen on an episode of TheRich Eisen Showlast week where Snead, 54, revealed that the team twice had to share a hotel with a furry convention while in Seattle to play the Seahawks.
"Not only have we shared a hotel in Seattle with a furry convention," said Snead. "I think we’ve done it now twice."
Eisen showed an image of a group of furries posing in the lobby of a hotel and asked, "You're in Seattle, and this is the scene?"

Snead went on to share his opinion about the furry community, a subculture of adults that dress as animals with human characteristics.
"If you talk about people that are passionate, they're passionate," Snead said, and added that their execution of the furry costumes was "well thought-out" and "well-intended."

Eisen suggested that if the Seahawks were putting their opponents in a hotel filled with adults in animal costumes it could have been intended to throw them off in advance of the game, and the equivalent of "pulling a fire alarm at 4 a.m."

Snead said that the furry convention incidents happened during "the Pete Carroll era," and joked that it "seems like something Pete might do." Carroll, 73, coached the Seahawks for 14 seasons from 2010 to 2023.
The Seahawks did not immediately return PEOPLE's request for confirmation about whether or not they arranged the hotel stays for the Rams.

Former Rams linebacker Greg Gaines, who now plays for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, commented on a clip of Snead's interview, confirming the furry convention story. "This did in fact happen multiple times," Gaines wrote.
