Queen of the South have issued a “fuller apology” to their supporters after George Galloway, the politician, was allowed to attend Saturday’s match against Dundee. Coronavirus restrictions mean that supporters are not allowed to attend football matches, and the club could now face a Scottish FA charge. Queens first apologised on Sunday and on Monday they issued a second apology, saying it was a “total error of judgement” to allow Galloway to attend the match. When challenged about his attendance at the match, Galloway had said he was “about to be a sponsor” and claimed he was “spreading the word about the club to millions of people”. It was a genuine mistake that should not have been made.” Mainland Scotland was put under tier four restrictions at midnight on Christmas Day, and Scottish FA rules state that no guests are allowed at matches in these conditions.
