Tuesday morning brought very good news for new Texas A&M head basketball coach Bucky McMillan, starting with the landing of former Texas Tech and Creighton standout guard Pop Isaacs, paired with the official return of Indiana transfer forward Mackenzie Mgbako, who recently participated in the NBA Combine this month.
With Mgbako officially signed and ready to play in 2025, the Aggies' roster is more than talented enough to make the NCAA Tournament next season, especially with Pop Isaacs, who is deemed to become one of the program's starters based on his elite play with the Bluejays last season, averaging 16 points per game before his season-ending injury.
Overall, McMillan has more than enough to work with during in inaugural campaign, and it's crazy to think that after Buzz Williams departed for Maryland, Texas A&M's roster was gutted, leaving sophomore forward Chris McDermott as the lone name left. So far, every need has been filled, and for those who have lost track of every new addition from the portal, here is where things currently stand, and how the 2025 starting lineup could look.
With five guards, six forwards, and versatile center Federiko Federiko, McMillan has all but completed his 2025 roster, barring any last-minute additions heading into the 2025 season. Compared to Buzz Williams' previous rosters, this is by far the most talented Texas A&M has had in several seasons based on recruiting rankings and production.
