Lol the starters aren’t playing I bet.

Game 3 will be looked at as Game 4 from previous preseasons.
I think it will be similar to week 1 of the preseason this year. I would guess the first team line gets a drive or two. I would hope Kirk gets some reps along with Rondale. Same at RB.

Defensively, same. Zaven and Isaiah will probably play a bit more than a quarter. It seems like getting them in game reps next to each other is a priority this preseason.

CB will be interesting. Might see an entire game of Whittaker and Gowan.

I would play Isabella the entire game. I would play Winters at least a quarter. After that, I wouldn't play anyone else.

Not sure why media talking like Winters is starter quality. I also assumed we got him as backup\camp body???

Same. Dudes a JAG. I don't think he makes the 53.

Murray and Jones can play RG. Both can backup Beechum. Garcia can backup Hudson and both guard spots.

Winters offers no flexibility

I think that both guards, Winters and Murray, need to play some. CS to play at least three quarters. AI, Dortch, Baccellia, Johnson, and Wesley to fight for the final two WR spots. Though, Johnson might have one, already.

I dont want anyone of consequence playing on that field. I think the Saints may be the worst turf in America now that the old dome in Minnesota was closed.

I don't start any of our starters. The coaching staff know what they need to know about the starters. No reason to risk it because I don't think we have a whole lot of depth at certain positions.

Basically everyone other than

Kyler Murray
Chase Edmonds
Deandre Hopkins
AJ Green
Maxx Williams
JJ Watt
Chandler Jones
Markus Golden
Budda Baker
Jalen Thompson
Malcolm Butler
Robert Alford
Byron Murphy

are getting some reps.

The line needs a series or two just to ensure they are ready to keep Kyler upright.

I don't really feel like James Conner needs to be protected.

Same with Kirk and Moore.

Again, with the inexperience between Simmons and Collins, I am ok with them getting more reps to develop their communication and getting others lined up correctly.

Everyone else needs the reps and is very replaceable at this point.

Also, if they are going to give a guy some reps give him some actual reps. Putting guys out there for 3 - 5 snaps is pointless tokenism.

But personally I wouldn't play any first team guys or any key 2nd stringers. 3rd team and below only.

Just a wild guess but I don't think Kingsbury's approach to Preseason #3 will even faintly resemble traditional approaches to that game.

Reason - Kingsbury (at least from this writer's perspective 2,000 miles from Glendale) seeks to be "the coolest kid on the block" and will game plan away from the tried and true - & therefore be hard to predict. (i.e. he'll march to his own drummer. Sometimes this will get him into trouble. Other times he'll do OK).

Trying to predict what he'll do (& its impact on roster battles will be a fool's errand.
