We’ve got our first live action for the 2025 Denver Broncos as they take on the San Francisco 49ers on the road in the first preseason game for both clubs. While it won’t be an apples vs. apples type game with the 49ers deciding to keep their starters on the sidelines for this game. Sean Payton has confirmed he’ll have his starters out for a series or two for tonight. So we’ll be getting our first look at Bo Nix and that offense this season.

Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. Mile High time on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. You can also check local Broncos radio network affiliate stations. Join the discussion in the comments section below.

Broncos starting defense: D.J. Jones, Allen, Franklin-Myers, Cooper, Bonitto, Bailey, Strnad, Hufanga, B. Jones, Surtain, Moss

McMillian beaten deep down the left sideline, coverage on Jordan Watkins. 50 yards. Niners in the red zone.

— Andrew Mason (@MaseDenver) August 10, 2025
Taylor is short of the 1st down and it'll be 4th and short

— MileHighReport (@MileHighReport) August 10, 2025
On 4th and inches… Mac Jones sneaks and gets it

— MileHighReport (@MileHighReport) August 10, 2025
Touchdown, Niners.

SF's Patrick Taylor gets to the edge and to the end zone.

Big play on the drive was the 50-yard pass to Jordan Watkins.

No Marvin Mims on #Broncos kickoff return. It's Badie and Jackson.

— Chris Tomasson (@christomasson) August 10, 2025
Much hyped Denver D just got some humble pie. Mac Jones and 49ers back-up offense just went 71 yards in 8 plays for TD. Might be best thing for Vance Joseph’s unit. Back to work.

Broncos starting offense: Bolles, Powers, Wattenberg, Meinerz, McGlinchey, Nix, Trautman, Engram, Harvey, Mims, Sutton

— Andrew Mason (@MaseDenver) August 10, 2025
RJ Harvey's got some juice.

Looked like he was going to be stopped quickly and then powered through for a nice pickup.

— Aric DiLalla (@AricDiLalla) August 10, 2025
#Broncos don't make it to midfield on first drive of game. Bogged down at their 49 and Jeremy Crawshaw his first NFL punt

— Chris Tomasson (@christomasson) August 10, 2025
#Broncos struggle on punt coverage as 49ers run it out to their 43 for 28 yards.

— Chris Tomasson (@christomasson) August 10, 2025
No. 1 defense out there for a second series.

— Parker Gabriel (@ParkerJGabriel) August 10, 2025
Disappointing start by the Broncos offense, defense, and special teams

— MileHighReport (@MileHighReport) August 10, 2025
SACK BONITTO

— MileHighReport (@MileHighReport) August 10, 2025
SACK BONITTO (and others) AGAIN

— MileHighReport (@MileHighReport) August 10, 2025
Bonitto killed that drive

— MileHighReport (@MileHighReport) August 10, 2025
49ers blitz Nix. He throws it away from the pocket and from the end zone. Safety.
49ers Backups 9, Broncos Starters 0
Sheesh

Ja'Quan McMillian with the INT near the left sideline off Mac Jones. Pass for Jordan Watkins was low, inside, read perfectly. Broncos at the SF 49. First-team offense checking back in.

Going for it!

Nix throws high to Franklin and they get the 1st down

— MileHighReport (@MileHighReport) August 10, 2025
Nix's third-down pass to Sutton is incomplete.

Wil Lutz hits a 42-yard field goal to cut SF's lead to 9-3.

— Aric DiLalla (@AricDiLalla) August 10, 2025
Real nice vision by Courtney Jackson on that punt return, navigating forward for 25 yards.

— Andrew Mason (@MaseDenver) August 10, 2025
4th down and here comes Jarrett Stidham and the Broncos 2nd team offense

— MileHighReport (@MileHighReport) August 10, 2025
