listening to Paul Allen on Minneapolis sports talk

his take on the Cards:

far superior to the Vikings. Talent all over the field for the Cardinals. Murray relied on talent before, now playing the position at a high level. Loves "#9"

Vikes only chance "Cards history is that they put a display on like Tennessee, then come back to the pack the next week"

This is the big difference guys like Watt add to the team.

They don't allow guys to drop their levels back down.

In my opinion, this isn't the trap game. This is the game they are fired up for at home.

The trap game is next week against the Jags at 10 AM with the Rams the following week.

You have to have a special kind of bad day to lose to this Jags team

I'm of the opinion that the team is playing hard in order to impress JJ Watt. They see him as a HOF player and want to impress him. At least that's the way I see it.

Interesting read about Kyler staying in structure and not freelancing too much

Good article, that basically comes to the conclusion Kliff still sucks as a play caller.

But it also does point out Kyler makes things more difficult than they need to be because he feels a need to leave the pocket to soon.

Seems like the latter is the cause of the former.

So the Kliff sucks as a playcaller after his team scores 38 in week one.

And the article even states that Kyler was WORSE when he ran plays outside of the play design, which you could infer, means the Cardinals would be more successful with in the play design.

Do you see the flaw to this argument here?

So if Beachum is out should Jones move to RT? To at least see how he does in that role?

Cause right now I'm wondering if Justin Murray is also better at RG.

To be fair it didn't say he sucked, just that while things showed some improvement there were still some issues.

It was generally much better with further room for improvement.

Yeah I don't think they said it sucked, but the author clearly doesn't believe in Kliff's offense.

It's just pretty funny that he says that Murray's talent makes the scheme go, but then said that the offense was better when Murray followed the play design.

Very rarely are you going to watch an NFL game and not see room for improvement. For the most part, the offense didn't really struggle.

Looking forward to this one. You could say one game is a fluke and not indicative of how the season will go. Two game will tell us a lot more about the Cardinals. And in game 3, Arizona goes against a team with a new coach, new quarterback and few expectations. Conceivable, Cardinals could end week 3 with no losses and have two road games under their belt. After game 3, there’s still 14 tough games to go and anything can happen.

No. It is posible to succeed with bad play calling due to superior talent, and IMO that is what is happening, and basically what the author is stating is happening.

Murray is not a bad RT. He is nearly as good as Beachum.

Jones actually played reasonably well at guard, best not to move him and give more experience there.
