That's good, just get out in front of it. Going for an offhand comment that bombs isn't a great sin. You can keep people's trust by acknowledging those times that you don't adhere to your own values.

Offhand comment? Seemed pretty onhand to me to say it the way he did. They also just call this stuff, damage control. Doesn't mean that's not how he thinks.. Ahh, politics.

What Biden said is no secret. Black people who have views and opinions that don't line-up with typical liberal/democrat ideologies have been called Uncle Tom, house slaves, sell outs, and other disgusting terms for decades. Black people are individuals and their thoughts, beliefs, and votes should not be treated as or expected to be one singular voice.

At the end of the day, even if he might not have been the moderates' first choice, he was the most successful in consolidation. Bernie was mint, which the majority of the voters couldn't stand, and they eventually had to accept that getting neapolitan was better than picking strawberry, chocolate, or vanilla before the store started only stocking mint.

man, right after I post that really good clip of the interview with Colbert, Biden follows it up with stepping in a massive pile of poo, while simultaneously stepping a gardening tool to smack him in the face.

Well, I didn't ask you. Blacks overwhelmingly support Boden, particularly black women, so swinging the black vote from the other side is a silly comment to make. Additionally, Biden's comment was the last thing he said in the interview. His campaign quickly stepped up and clarified, which is one of the things campaigns do. He personally apologized later.

I mean, good hell! It's not like he said "malarkey" or something.....

That's a gross misrepresentation. Not that it doesn't happen but it's not just from the liberal/democrat side. And, in my experience, it's much more likely to be a black on black situation. Anyway, it has absolutely nothing to do with what Biden said.

But in this case he's right, no reasonable black person could vote for Trump over Biden. And no reasonable non-black person could do it either. It wasn't about calling anyone out for not voting Democrat, it was making the point that there is no justification for ANYONE, but especially minorities, voting for Trump over Biden.
