I think Payton is a good HC.

He had some very good teams and kept failing in the playoffs when they should have made the SB so I think he's overrated to a degree but if you want someone to change the culture and get the Org back on track he's a good choice.

But if his options are Chargers or Cardinals there is no way he's coming here.

Albert Breer said the other day that he thinks Payton wants to stay on the west coast, thus the interest in L.A. and AZ.

New Orleans still holds the rights to Payton. I'm guessing they going be wanting a 1st rd pick from any team interested.

More likely L.A, he has a decent team to build around.

Sean Payton would probably not want Keim, so I would be for taking him if he decides.

Perhaps how much control he has may be a factor.

Cameron asked DHop the same question and DHop went into a long speech about how every man needs to look in the mirror and look at what they’ve done blah blah blah.

I prefer Budda’s answer.

Herbert > Murray
Spanos > Bidwill

We lose that battle if it comes down to it…
While this is true, there’s other factors you have to account for.

- Would Payton rather live in LA or Phoenix?

- Which organization will give him more control?

- Mahomes vs Shanahan factor. I think McVay & Donald will be retiring soon. Carroll is getting older.

- Fetish for short QBs? lol

yeah... the Niners likely being the only serious threat in the division for the next ten years is a selling point.
but hell.... what if he wants to take over for McVay?

yeah I dunno...

Brees was subpar for a few years... then he went out and hired a personal coach the same year the team decided to draft eli,...errrr...Rivers.. Drew came in and lit it up...was off the hook until that shoulder injury.

comeback story or whatever... nobody MADE Drew Brees a HoF QB except for Drew Brees
its way more likely Brees made Payton a HoF coach

Why would he take over for McVay? lol

Do you not see what their future looks like after not having any picks + potentially a departing McVay/Donald/Stafford/Ramsey.

The NFC and NFC West does have a unique appeal as the talent level is worse than the AFC.

I totally forgot about this.

I’ve seen people Payton wouldn’t want to be in a division with Mahomes. Hell, it’s just not him. You have to worry about Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, Lamar, Tua, Watson the predator, maybe Trevor Lawrence, possibly Bryce Young.

NFC is what? Dak, Jalen? Possibly Fields? Maybe Trey Lance?
