Pitch Perfect

Release Date: September 28, 2012 (limited; wide: Oct. 5)
Studio: Universal Pictures
Director: Jason Moore
Screenwriter: Kay Cannon, Jeff Roda

MPAA Rating: PG-13 (for sexual material, language and drug references)
Website: PitchPerfectmovie.com | Facebook | Twitter

Starring: Anna Kendrick, Brittany Snow, Anna Camp, Rebel Wilson, Alexis Knapp, Adam DeVine, Freddie Stroma

Plot Summary: Beca (Anna Kendrick) is that girl who'd rather listen to what's coming out of her headphones than what's coming out of you. Arriving at her new college, she finds herself not right for any clique but somehow is muscled into one that she never would have picked on her own: alongside mean girls, sweet girls and weird girls whose only thing in common is how good they sound when they sing together, in the new out-loud comedy "Pitch Perfect."

When Beca takes this acoustic singing group out of their world of traditional arrangements and perfect harmonies into all-new mash-ups, they fight to climb their way to the top of the cutthroat world of college a cappella. This could wind up either the coolest thing they'll ever do or the most insane, and it will probably be a little of both.

Loaded with new takes on old favorites to hits of right now that are seamlessly mixed together, mashed-up and arranged like you've never heard before, "Pitch Perfect" is directed by Jason Moore, who opened our eyes to the very misbehaved life of puppets in the surprise Broadway sensation "Avenue Q."

My wife and I watched this movie tonight, it was a lot of fun. It was enough to make my wife dig out her Straight No Chaser cd's.

I was expecting zero out of this movie. My wife rented it and we thought it was pretty funny.

yeah my wife and I watched this a while back when it first came out on DVD and really enjoyed it. Very funny.

Funny thing is the song from this movie "Cups" has been shooting up the charts.

Loved it. I had never even heard of it until hearing about the sequel. Surprisingly very fun. I liked the sharp dialog.

Yeah, surprisingly good. And the chick from True Blood was as hot as ever.

Anna Camp is ridiculously cute.

Yeah when I saw the previews for this originally I was like yeahhhhh never seeing that.

Then my sisters got into it and were going crazy for this movie, it's all they talked about. I was skeptical but went to see it with my sister anyways.

The whole experience was hilarious. The movie had been out for a long time at that point, like months. So my sister is telling me, we've gotta go early and I'm thinking; really? This movie has been out forever and I haven't heard anything about it from anyone but you!

She was totally right, we got there early and the theatre was almost completely full. Complete mix of old and young people, not just teenagers. The whole theater was buzzing, everyone (except me) had obviously seen it several times.

Then the movie came on, everyone was singing along and quoting like they do at Rocky Horror Picture show, that was totally the atmosphere.

All that considered, it was a fantastic movie! I laughed my butt off. Very cool music and like 3 out of my top 10 girls in hollywood.

I mean I already had a huge crush on Anna Camp, Anna Kendrick and Brittany Snow, then I find out they all sing like angels to boot? lol wow Not to mention the other girl Alexis Knapp??? WOW. Ya I can watch that all day.

If you haven't seen this, go rent it and then go see the sequel when it comes out, because I promise the atmosphere in the theater will be awesome, this movie has a big time following.

I hope they can caputre some of the chemistry from the first one, but I'm not going to beat them up too bad if they dont. The first one was just one of those awesome little movies where everything came together just right. And I dont blame them for trying, they HAD to make a sequel, there was just too much money left on the table because the first one didn't really debut huge at the box office, it built up that cult following the longer it was out.

I can’t believe I haven’t posted in this thread. I love this movie! I recorded it on DVR recently as NBC aired it and I’ve been finding myself watching it or having it on in the background almost daily.

I rented Pitch Perfect 2 from the library so I could prepare to go see Pitch Perfect 3. I remember not liking 2 as much as 1 so I have zero expectations for 3.

Acca-scuse me?!
