It's not exactly news, of course. to point out that Spurs second-year center Victor Wembanyama is a tall man. Listed at 7-foot-3 on San Antoino's roster, Wembanyama is not the tallest player in the league, not with Zach Edey of Memphis at 7-foot-4. But Wembanyama is tied for No. 2 on the list, with Bol Bol of the Phoenix Suns.
Still, it's always difficult to put into perspective just how tall that is relative to other NBA big men. At least, until you get a crew of them together for, say, a photo of recent Spurs Rookie of the Year winners.
That's what happened on Wednesday after the Spurs learned that rookie Stephon Castle won the award, giving the Spurs back-to-back winners--Wembanyama won it last season--and now runs the franchise total to four.
Tim Duncan was Rookie of the Year in 1997-98, and David Robinson won the award in 1989-90. The Spurs gathered all four together and, well, it was hard to believe that Duncan played his entire career at 6-foot-11, and that Robinson is 7-foot-1.
Somehow, Wembanyama towered over both.
Fans viewing the post on X/Twitter were stunned by the view.
One responded: "is wemby 8 feet tall?!!?"
Another asserted, "Victor can't be just 7'4." (Again, he's listed at 7-foot-3.)
Said another: "Wemby makes Timmy look like a 6’3 point guard."
Still another: "Insane that Wemby makes Centers look like wing players next to him."

Though the chances are slim, don't count the Spurs out for a third consecutive Rookie of the Year. With Wembanyama going down because of a blood clot in February, the Spurs finished with a 34-48 record that gives them a 6.0% chance of winning the league's draft lottery.
Cooper Flagg of Duke is the presumed No. 1 pick, and the clear early favorite to be next season's Rookie of the Year.
