What is a slang we sometimes use to call a football?

The Pigskin.

The Washington Pigskins. Often the teams last name was shortened to Skins so announcers and fan could still use that slang. It sure is better than the Washington Football Team.

I heard somebody went out and bought The rights to a number Names that were talked about and now names like the Red Tails can’t be used or would have to be purchased. Don’t know how true this is.

The movie was excellent as were the Red Tail squad of fighter pilots who had an excellent record of protecting bombers as escorts and minimum loses to their own planes.
