I guess that would be the only thing. My wife is a Yankees fan and I watched quite a bit of their games and he was a non-factor all season.

Extreme splits. .981 OPS vs lefties. .680 vs righties.

That's why he works great with Pavin Smith in a platoon. Pavin .817 OPS vs righties. You end up getting around an .835 OPS out of first, which is well above average production

The lineup flexibility is great too because Goldy is a plus defender still at first

I could see Goldschmidt coming back if it's a reasonable deal, but he's strictly a stop-gap platoon player now.

Resigning McCann is more important, but fixing the outfield and the pitching staff are the top priorities.
