New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel met with reporters on Wednesday and detailed why he is excited for the 2026 season.
The 2026 season will be an intriguing one. The team will have one of the hardest schedules in the NFL. This comes a year after they had the easiest schedule in the entire league. It will be exciting to watch the games unfold, with the organization taking part in some of the best matchups of the season.
And Vrabel will be in the middle of it all, as he looks to follow up on a successful first season with the organization.
“I'm excited about the rest of the schedule," Vrabel told media members on Wednesday. "We’ll have to play in the heat. We’ll have to play in Munich. We’ll have to play on Thursday night with a short turnaround. We’ll have long breaks. So there will have to be some creativity. Going 13 days between games is somewhat unique. We've had that a couple of times, maybe. There's short turnarounds. We have long breaks. It'll be all of our jobs to make sure that the players are ready when and where we play."
The 2026 schedule will undoubtedly be a serious test for a Patriots team looking to make it back to the Super Bowl. At the very least, it should give fans a better idea of where the team stands with the other top competition in the NFL.
One thing is certain under Mike Vrabel: the Patriots will be ready and battle-tested no matter who they face on the schedule.
