NORMAN — OU football's recruiting is starting to heat up.

The Sooners landed a commitment from 2026 three-star defensive lineman Brian Harris on Friday afternoon. The 6-foot-4, 290-pound lineman out of Mandarin High School in Florida chose OU over Alabama, Michigan, Penn State and South Carolina.

Harris is ranked as the No. 530 overall prospect in the 2026 class. He's also the No. 75 player in Florida. Harris was named the defensive line MVP of the Under Armour Next camp in Orlando this year.

He was credited with 29 tackles, 4 ½ sacks and two forced fumbles in 10 games last season.

Harris is the seventh member of the Sooners' 2026 class.

OU general manager Jim Nagy reacted to the news on social media saying, "It starts in the trenches."
