Chiefs superfan “ChiefsAholic” arrested for robbing banks to fund Chiefs tickets in deadline entry for story of the year

There’s just over a week remaining in 2022. We’re down to the wire. In all categories across the internet—music, movies, knitting, sports—the best-of-year nominees have been filed, the votes tabulated. Various “Wrapped” recaps have arrived and been hung from the chimney Instagram with care. But it’s never over till it’s really truly over, and on Monday evening a new contender for Most Unhinged Sports Story of the Year kicked down the door like Ol’ Saint Nick on a bender. It goes something like this:

“ChiefsAholic,” a beloved Chiefs superfan known for attending each and every game at Arrowhead in a wolf mask, was a no-show at Sunday’s game versus the Texans. He had also gone dark on his usually active social media accounts. Chiefs fans on reddit began to worry—maybe his car had flown off the road and down an embankment and he was now being held captive by even more deranged Chiefs fan like poor Jimmy Caan in ‘Misery.’ So they began their search.

They looked high and low, near and far. They scoured hospital records and shook down informants. Eventually, they found ChiefsAholic alive and well … in prison.

the article said that was debunked and he wasn’t wearing the wolf mask
I saw some pretty convincing photos, too bad it's not real. Because that would be hilarious.

Xaviar Babudar, aka ChiefsAholic, gets 32 years for Okla. robbery

Infamous Kansas City Chiefs superfan Xaviar Babudar was sentenced in an Oklahoma courtroom Monday to 32 years in prison, 2½ years after authorities caught him in the state as he fled from a local bank robbery.

Babudar, known as ChiefsAholic, is already serving a 17½-year federal sentence for robbing banks in seven states from 2022 to 2023. But the Tulsa County district attorney's office wanted him to serve more time and sought a life sentence for the 30-year-old. His sentence is concurrent, meaning he'll serve an additional 14½ years in an Oklahoma penitentiary after his federal term ends.

"It was offensive to me," said Tulsa County District Attorney Steve Kunzweiler, "that a serial robber could victimize as many hardworking Americans as this guy did all across the country and only receive 17½ years from the federal government.

"My preference was for him to serve the rest of his life in prison. He caught another break today, but at least he's going to be serving some additional time, and my thoughts are with the victims who continue to be tormented by his violence."

In March, Babudar pleaded guilty in Oklahoma to robbery with a firearm, assault while masked or disguised and removing an electronic monitoring device in connection with a Dec. 16, 2022, armed robbery of the Tulsa Teachers Credit Union.

He deserves to be in jail for the rest of his life.
It’s weird, I’ve watched a couple documentaries on him and, maybe it’s me, but it seems like they tried to make him out to be sympathetic figure and people are rooting for him.

It’s just like the clown who shot the CEO of the health insurance company. Some People are on that idiots side. Both need to be in jail the rest of their lives.

Super political, but I'm kinda on that guy's side. Insurance companies have killed thousands of people by refusing treatment, delaying treatment etc. There's some sort of karmic justice in play here... Should that guy go to jail for the rest of his life, yep. Do I understand and sympathize? Yep.

I'm on the same side of the fence.
Too many of the wealthy and political have destroyed lives for decades with impunity.
The law is useless to help the common man.
But fear? Real legit fear will stop that behavior dead in its tracks.
The general public should be feared far more than stockholders or donors.
But Americans have grown to accustomed to eating shyte
