The Oklahoma Sooners are back on top of the softball world after their impressive three-game sweep of the Texas Longhorns over the weekend. By holding down their home field and beating their Red River rivals in all three games, the Sooners opened up a two-game lead in the win column with one SEC Softball series to play.
The Sooners moved up to the No. 1 spot in Softball America's top 25 on Monday. On Tuesday, the NFCA Coaches Poll returned the four-time defending national champion Sooners to their rightful place atop the sport.
The Texas A&M Aggies, who are just two wins behind the Sooners, come in at No. 2. The Big Ten's Oregon Ducks are at No. 3. Then it's back to the SEC for No. 4 Texas and No. 5 Tennessee. The Volunteers will play the Aggies this weekend in Knoxville as both schools try to catch the Sooners for the SEC regular season title.
This week, seven of the top 10 teams come from the SEC, and 11 of the top 25.
