The Oklahoma City Thunder are not just a flash in the pan. With a war chest full of draft picks and plenty of finantal flexability with options moving forward, the Thunder can coninue to use their picks or trade them for more establsied talent.

It's all up to Sam Presti, and so far, he's made more good choices than bad ones. With room to gamble, the Thunder are predicted to take a big swing with their first of two picks in the first round of the 2025 NBA Draft.

A recent mock draft published by The Athletic(subscription required) has the Thunder pick University of Michigan center Danny Wolf 15th overall (via MIA).

Optimistic fans would love to compare Wolf to Nikola Jokic thanks to his ball-handling and passing abilities, but let's be realistic. Jokic, at this point, is a top-15 player ever, and comparing a middle-of-the-first-round pick to him is a massive reach.

Yes, I know, Jokic was drafted in the second round, but that doesn't mean every overlooked center prospect will become a three-time MVP.

Wolf is an excellent passer and can handle point-guard duties. He shot a solid, but not blistering, 33.6 percent from deep in his final college season.

If the shot develops, he will be a very good center, and his turnover-prone passing (which is often very flashy) can be mitigated by having him stand in the corner on offense when he isn't taking on a bigger role.

The Thunder have the means to roll the dice, and if it pays off, Wolf is a wonderful fit in the well-rounded system OKC has. If it doesn't work out, well, the Thunder will still be title favorites next season anyway.
