By “creeping up on” does he mean walking to the front door? I think most people have become so jaded that anyone approaching our door or ringing our doorbell when we are not expecting anyone is viewed with suspicion. What a sad state of affairs.
I raise my niece and last night was her High School graduation. Some idiot in her class last week (Thursday) thought it would be a good idea to post on social media pictures of himself with guns saying he will shoot up the graduating class during either the practice or actual ceremony. Police after a manhunt found him over the weekend. He was expelled and is now in jail facing a slew of charges. School immediately expelled him but he told the police there were others in on it with him but as far as I know no names.
The ceremony was in a big auditorium in St Louis City. Because of this idiot everybody had to stand out in the rain and tornado sirens going off in order to wait in line for security checks. Metal Detectors, Wanding, and pat downs. The whole works. All because of this guy. I am not faulting the security measures used because they had to. It is very sad state of affairs we have now in this country where a time of celebration has to be done this way now.
I imagine that Ice-T's house doesn't involve a front door directly in front of a street. It probably involves a gate and a long driveway.
Seeing someone inside that area in a delivery uniform is one thing, but someone in street clothes with no indicator would be another.
My old HS several years ago some seniors decided a good prank would be to get plastic guns that looked real, and run around campus having a mock gun fight. Same thing campus went on lockdown, kids got arrested and then their parents complained the police roughed them up and that it was going to hurt their college chances if they weren't allowed to go through graduation.
In your case was it a joke or was the kid serious? In the Cupertino case it was a joke but IIRC some of the kids did get expelled.
Plus, being the celebrity figure that he is, with his background, he could probably tell stories for hours about people bothering him, coming up to his house, etc.
I guess will find out if it was a joke. All I know is he is sitting in a St Louis county jail right now and was expelled from school. Clothed police were all over the ceremony inside and outside the venue. Maybe more plains clothed in the crowd also. Who knows.
In today's USA, and today's schools, there is no such thing as a "joke" when it comes to making threats like that. And, the kids definitely know that is off limits when it comes to joking.
The young man is in serious trouble. Not good to have a felony on your resume or college applications.
Too damn bad.
Yeah that's just stupid and as you said totally ruins it for the people attending too.
Amen. Not a joking matter.
Americans, who represent slightly less than 5% of the world population, own 47% of firearms.
The price of freedum, dude!
