The Ohio State Buckeyes are gearing up for their August 30 matchup with Steve Sarkisian's Texas Longhorns with plans on defending their 2024 National Championship.

The Buckeyes return head coach Ryan Day, superstar players Caleb Downs, Jeremiah Smith and others and must sort out their quarterback pecking order in time for a blockbuster opener against Arch Manning and the 'Horns.

On Thursday, the Ohio State Buckeyes' X account made an announcement on Smith and two other Buckeyes for their outstanding work in recent days.

The announcement was viewed over 68,000 times as fans acknowledged three Buckeye standouts on X.

"Dudes of THE Week," the Buckeyes' X account wrote with an emoji on Thursday.

Smith, tackle Austin Siereveld, and linebacker Garrett Stover were all given the distinction as they posed for a picture with coach Day.

"Number four looks like he could be pretty good this year," one reader said tongue-in-cheek in regards to the photo of Smith, a projected First-Team All-American and Heisman Trophy candidate.

"Elite dudes!!!" another fan said.

"Jeremiah Smith looks leaner than means he going to be even faster even though he already is," another said.

"I feel like Stover is going to force his way onto the field...Dude is an athlete!!!" another added.

"JJ on that Marv program," another said of Smith, calling to mind Marvin Harrison Jr.'s recent strength upgrade with the Arizona Cardinals.
