Official: Valencia star signs new contract
A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga outfit Valencia has put pen to paper on a new contract with the club.
As much was made official by Los Che themselves on Friday, who confirmed André Almeida as the player in question.
Attacking midfielder Almeida is for his part fresh off a difficult start to the new campaign, culminating in just 32 total minutes across Valencia’s first six league fixtures.
As much follows a summer which saw the Portuguese heavily linked with a departure from Mestalla, amid serious interest in his signature by way of Turkey.
Recent word stemming from the Valencia camp, confirming that talks had been opened over a contract renewal between the parties, therefore came as something of a surprise.
And as alluded to above, on Friday, such negotiations have officially borne fruit.
As per a statement across Valencia’s website and social media platforms:
‘Valencia CF have reached an agreement for the contract extension of André Almeida until 2029.
‘The 25-year-old Portuguese footballer (30/05/2000) extends his link with the Club by one more year, thus reaffirming his continuity and his long-term commitment as a Valencianista.’
