Good news. Morocco would have been like Qatar, only worse.

Morocco really are on an island here. Unless they get Fifa to accept a joint bid with Spain they probably will not host anytime soon.

Need to start planning a Disneyland/Rose Bowl trip now... my kids will be 12 and 10 by then.. can't really even imagine!

Either that or a multi-city road trip if the kids are really into soccer.

This is awesome. I will want to go to a game.

They gotta have one here right? Huge hispanic population and events in UofP are always amazing. I would think we'd be high on the list.

Glendale pulled out of the running, not wanting to commit that far out. Several other big cities, like Chicago, did too.

I'm surprised by both Phx and Chicago to pull out of this.

Don't be silly.

Morocco, while a much more scenic and historic country, doesn't have the oil cash that Qatar has. How would Morocco have the cash to build all the stadiums required for a 48 team tourney?

They wouldn't. So your point makes no sense. You're saying it would be bad and I agree but not anything like Qatar. If your issue is stadia then what's wrong with Qatar?

Qatar bribed their way to the WC, but at least has the cash to build a dozen stadiums and not bankrupt the country. Morocco doesn't have that type of wealth.

I hear the British Isles are mulling going in on a 2030 bid.
