No. 3 Overall Recruit in the 2026 Class Down to Auburn and Three Other Schools originally appeared on Athlon Sports.

Hugh Freeze and the Auburn Tigers are looking to follow up their two previous top-ten recruiting classes with another in 2026. If they can secure a commitment from the No. 3 player in the country, it would be a significant help.

Five-star offensive tackle Immanuel Iheanacho is down to four schools: the LSU Tigers, Oregon Ducks, Penn State Nittany Lions, and Auburn, he announced today.

The 6-foot-7, 350-pound recruit is on a visit to the Plains this weekend, coming off a weekend visit to Baton Rouge. Iheanacho will then be in Death Valley, followed by Eugene, making it a month of official visits to his top four schools.

Iheanacho, a native of Baltimore, Maryland, cut the Alabama Crimson Tide, Texas A&M Aggies, and his home state school, the Maryland Terrapins, from his previous top 7. He is the No. 1 ranked player in-state and is the No. 2 ranked offensive tackle behind Miami Hurricanes commit Jackson Cantwell.

The Tigers are ranked No. 13 in the team recruiting rankings, according to On3, with five four-star commits. Expect them to move into the top 10, with Freeze and his staff honing in on several top targets.

The No. 6 ranked quarterback, Landon Duckworth, and the No. 29 defensive lineman, Preston Carey, have both been on campus and left very impressed with what was on offer. While top defensive prospects Nolan Wilson and Jaquez Wilkes will be visiting this weekend with Iheanacho, both are four-star recruits.

Recruiting top talent has never been a problem for Freeze; he knows that performances on the field in 2025 are crucial if he wants to remain the Auburn head coach.
